About the Zone

Big, wide open bowls, long, wide groomers and vast views of Tahoe are the calling cards for Pacific Crest South Bowls. This zone is also home to one of the best on-mountain hang outs—the Ice Bar. It's a great place to work on your goggle tan, grab a beer, or hot chocolate for the kids.

Terrain Breakdown

Getting Here

The quickest way to access this bowl paradise is by taking the Summit lift. At the top you'll make the hike on High Traverse (you'll see signs for it once you unload left off Summit), where you'll be rewarded with views of Lake Tahoe. Once you reach the top, you'll be staring at several bowls to the left and right of you. Choose the one that looks the best and meet your ski buddy at the bottom of Sherwood Express for more.

Local Tips For Pacific Crest South Bowls

Sun-soaked slope

"Cut hard left off Sherwood and head through the trees toward South Face, a sun-soaked slope that's tame enough for intermediates. My 8 year old nephew prefers to traverse to his favorite zone - a natural halfpipe that he likes to buzz down the middle."
Megan Michelson

beginners are comfortable

"On Sherwood, adept beginners are comfortable. And you can easily spot the terrain you'll soon grow to ride."
Megan Michelson
