2017-18 Refer A Friend Season Pass Promotion

Terms & Conditions

Effective: October 24, 2017

These terms and conditions apply to the 2017-2018 Refer A Friend Season Pass Promotion (“Program”) from Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows (“Resort”). By referring a new passholder or otherwise participating in the Program, the referring passholder and the referred person who becomes a new passholder (“friend/new guest”), as the case may be, agree to these terms. 

1. Who is Eligible for a Reward and How to Earn a Reward:

A passholder who holds a 2017-2018 adult Tahoe Super Pass at Resort (an “existing passholder”), who has not opted out of receiving email communications from Resort, should receive a unique Refer A Friend Season Pass Promotion Code (the “Code”) by email. The existing passholder will only earn a referral reward under this Program if the friend/new guest (the referred person who becomes a new passholder) uses the Code to purchase a Qualifying Pass (defined below) at Resort or from Resort’s on-line eStore. The existing passholder can give the Code to any friend or any number of friends but cannot sell it, exchange it for anything of value, or market the Code or availability of a Code; an existing passholder may not enter into an arrangement with any third party that compensates that third party for promoting the Program, the Code, or referrals. The Code is not eligible to share among immediate family members. Any of the foregoing will invalidate the existing passholder’s Code. The Code will be used by Resort for the purpose of tracking Program referral(s). A friend/new guest will only earn a reward under this Program if the friend/new guest uses a valid Code while purchasing either a 2017-18 adult Gold Tahoe Super Pass, a 2017-2018 adult Silver Tahoe Super Pass, or a 2017-18 College Tahoe Super Pass at Resort or from Resort’s on-line eStore located at www.store.squawalpine.com (each, a “Qualifying Pass”) through December 29, 2017.  Purchasing a Qualifying Pass also involves using a credit card and reading and signing the Season Pass Agreement and the Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement. A friend/ new guest may only submit one Code when purchasing a Qualifying Pass. If the friend/new guests purchases a Qualifying Pass using any other promotion, a reward will not be earned under the Program. 

2. Rewards and Explanation of Program; “Mountain Money”:

Under the Program, eligible existing passholders and eligible friends/new guests satisfying all Program eligibility criteria and otherwise complying with all of these terms will receive a reward (respectively, “Reward”). The type and amount of the Reward and the process by which it is issued and redeemed is subject to change in Resort’s sole discretion. Subject to the Reward limit as explained in Section 4 below, the Reward for the existing passholder and the friend/new guest is Program Mountain Money as follows:

Existing passholder: $40-value in Program Mountain Money valid for use at certain Resort-owned and operated locations.

Friend/new guest: $20-value in Program Mountain Money valid for use at certain Resort-owned and operated locations.

Program ”Mountain Money” is value issued by Resort to an existing passholder or a friend/new guest under this promotional Program on the respective passholder’s then-active Resort season pass. Mountain Money is not cash nor redeemable for cash except in accordance with law. It is not transferrable and cannot be re-sold. Once the Mountain Money value is loaded onto a passholder’s season pass by the Resort, it can be used at these designated Resort-owned and operated restaurants, retail stores and equipment rental; facilities at the Resort that accept Program Mountain Money are:

Note that not all stores, restaurants and service providers in and around Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows, especially in The Village at Squaw Valley, accept Program Mountain Money - so please ask before making any purchase.

3. Reward Fulfillment:

Any Rewards for the referring existing passholder and the friend/new guest will not be issued until after the friend/new guest completes the Qualifying Pass purchase transaction and Resort verifies that a respective Reward has actually been earned in accordance with the Program by December 29, 2017.  Subject to the satisfaction of all Program criteria, approximately two (2) weeks following completion of the friend’s/new guest’s Qualifying Pass purchase transaction, existing passholders and friends/new guests should watch for an email from Resort about the Program Mountain Money being loaded onto their respective season passes.

4. REWARD LIMITS & EXPIRATION OF MOUNTAIN MONEY:

Under the Program there is no maximum Reward per existing passholder and no maximum mountain money value that me be earned under the program. 

A Reward, Mountain Money, a Qualifying Pass, or any other season pass or lift ticket cannot be transferred, assigned or redeemed for cash except in accordance with gift card law. All season passes, including Qualifying Passes, are subject to the Resort’s rules and regulations including without limitation the terms of any release of liability and indemnity agreement.  

5. General Provisions:

Rewards under the Program may not be combined with other promotions, referral rewards or similar programs.

The Program is void in all states or other places where it is prohibited or restricted.

Employees of Resort and its respective parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, and the immediate family members of all such employees, are not eligible to participate in the Program or receive any Rewards, discounts or other promotional offers under the Program for referring a friend/new guest, being referred as a friend/new guest, or otherwise.

Resort reserves the right to change Rewards and eligibility criteria under the Program, and to alter, modify, suspend or terminate the Program, these terms & conditions, or any component thereof, at any time upon communicating such to any participant, posting an updated version of these terms & conditions at the Program webpage at squawalpine.com, through mail, e-mail or such other methods as determined by Resort in its sole discretion.

Any and all claims or disputes arising in connection with the Program including, but not limited to, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these terms & conditions, or the rights and obligations of the existing passholder or the friend/new guest with respect to a Reward, will be governed by California law and exclusive jurisdiction and venue will be in the Superior Court of Placer County, California.
