Thursday will have beautiful weather with sun, light winds, and highs into the 40's.
Friday we will see strong winds and increasing clouds ahead of the next storm. Winds could gust to 70+ mph during the day which could affect lift operations on the upper mountain.
Friday Night System:
This storm is weakening it moves into CA. Right now it looks like we could see a dusting of snow at best from this storm as a few flakes of snow could fall Friday night.
Saturday into Sunday we will have dry weather. Saturday we could see some sun and highs into the 40's. Upper mountain winds look lighter but could still gust to 30 mph.
Sunday could be similar to Friday with strong upper mountain winds and increasing clouds. Highs drop into the 30's on the mountain Sunday and the winds could make it feel even colder. We could see lifts affected again Sunday on the upper mountain.
Sunday Night Storm:
Another storm will push in by Sunday evening and moving out Monday morning. This storm is weakening as well as it moves in, but it is starting out stronger than the other storms and could hold together enough to bring us some snow.
The current forecast is for 2-4 inches at the base and 3-6 inches on the mountain. Let's hope the storm doesn't continue to weaken and we can get some snow from this storm.
It looks like high pressure will build in by next Tuesday the 18th bringing a drier and milder pattern into the weekend of the 21st.
The long-range forecast models are all over the place through the holidays. Some of the long-range models suggest we could see a colder and stormier pattern by Christmas. We will continue to watch to see if we can break out of the drier pattern the last week of December.
