Weak Systems Tue - Wed, Significant Snowfall Possible This Weekend

Category: Weather

Partly cloudy skies for Monday with highs in the 40's.

Tuesday - Thursday Weak Systems:

We could see some clouds and a few sprinkles Tuesday from a weak system trying to push in.  Highs still in the 40's.  Snow levels up around 8,000 feet.

Wednesday afternoon into Thursday we have a chance for more light showers and some high elevation snowfall as a weak system drops down the coast. Snow levels starting around 8000 feet could fall to 7,000 feet by Thursday morning with rain at the base.  We could see 1-3 inches of snow above 7,000 feet by Thursday afternoon.

Friday - Saturday Stronger Storm Possible:

The next storm moving through for Friday into Saturday should be stronger as it pulls in more moisture and pushes through a cold front. We will likely see some stronger winds with this storm Friday afternoon into Saturday.  Snow levels could start around 7,000 feet but could fall below the base Friday night.

We will be watching this storm all week as we get a better idea of the potential snowfall and snow levels.  Right now if the current forecast holds we could see 1-2 feet of snow from this storm.

A cold pattern may set up starting next Sunday the 3rd.  We could see a cold storm for Sunday into next Monday drop down from the north right on the heels of the Saturday storm.  So the snow could fall almost continuously this weekend.

We will watch to see if more cold systems could drop down from the north the week of the 4th bringing more snowfall.
