Today and Wednesday
Today through Wednesday we have a short break with some clouds and sun and highs in the 40's on the mountain.
The winds could still be gusty on the mountains with one storm departing and another approaching. By late Wednesday ridge top winds could start to approach 90+ mph.
Thursday Night Storm
By Thursday afternoon a strong cold front approaches with heavy snow ahead of and with the front by evening, and showers behind it into Friday.
Snow levels start above 8,000 feet but fall during the day Thursday down to 7000 feet by evening and below the base Thursday night.
We could see 10-15 inches near the base of the mountain, and 15-20 inches above 7,000 feet by Friday night.
For the weekend we clear out but with cold air is in place. High temperatures may only be in the 30's at the base and 20's up on the mountain.
Sunday Night Storm
It looks like the next storm could move in as early as Sunday night. This storm looks to start with low snow levels.
We have to watch to see how much moisture it could bring in as the forecast models are not in agreement on whether the storm is a direct hit, or we catch the Southern edge.
The difference could be a few inches versus a foot plus of additional accumulation, so we will by tracking it closely.
We could see another cold system move in Wed-Thu next week before high pressure builds in with drier and possibly warmer weather for the weekend of the 27th.
