Unsettled Weather Continues Into the Weekend

Snowfall Report:

The storm has performed as expected so far.  Snow levels dropped to around 6,500 feet overnight, and the storm dropped 1-2 inches of snow on the mountain above that.

Wed - Thu:

Low pressures spinning over CA & NV will continue scattered showers possibly into Thursday. Between the showers, we could see some peeks of sun.  The snow levels should hover around 6,500 feet during any showers.  We could see a coating to an inch during the day Wednesday and maybe another 1-2 inches Wednesday night and a final coating to an inch is possible if we see any showers Thursday.

Highs in the 30's on the mountain Wednesday and Thursday to near 40 at the base.  Winds were gusting up to 50 mph up top Wednesday morning, but they should decrease into Thursday.

Friday Night-Saturday Storm:

We could see a quick break between storms on Friday with some sun and increasing clouds as the next storm approaches.  Highs in the 30's on the upper mountain and 40's at the base.  The next storm could arrive by 4 PM on Friday.

The next storm is expected to move through quickly Friday night with scattered snow showers possible into Saturday.  We could see another 1-3 inches to the base and 3-6 inches of snow on the mountain by Saturday afternoon.  Highs in the 30's on the mountain to near 40 at the base.

We should see a break in storms again Sunday with sunny skies and highs in the 30's & 40's.

Storm #3:

A slow-moving storm approaches the coast by Monday and it could take until Friday to completely clear through CA.  This storm is cut-off from the jet stream so the timing is going to be tricky.  Some model runs show snow pushing in as early as Monday and clearing out by Wednesday night, and others hold off until Wednesday night with the storm not clearing out until Friday.

We will be watching this system closely as we get closer.  The slow-moving nature of the storm could mean significant snowfall amounts once it does push into CA.

We may see a break in the storms going into the weekend of the 30th.  The active pattern could continue though, with storms returning through the first week of April.
