Thursday - Saturday:
We should see mostly sunny skies through Friday with some clouds increasing Saturday ahead of the next system. Lighter winds expected into Saturday before increasing late Saturday into Saturday night. Highs in the 40s on the upper mountain and 50s at the base.
The next system moves down from the north later Saturday night into Sunday. We should at least see slightly colder temperatures with highs in the 30s on the mountain, and gusty winds for Sunday gusting up to 60+ mph from the southwest up top. We could see clouds & sun with a few scattered snow showers during the day, but not expecting more than a dusting of snow.
We should see a mainly dry pattern next week. We start cool with highs in the 30s on the mountain and 40s at the base through Wednesday. Then warming later in the week into the 40s and maybe 50s at the base.
There are a couple of forecast models that suggest a cut-off low could move into southern CA Tue - Wed with some light precipitation as far north as Tahoe, so we will keep an eye on that.
The drier pattern may continue through the weekend of the 22nd and into the week of the 24th.
We are watching the end of the month into the first week of March as the long-range models suggest we could possibly start to see a pattern change, away from the high pressure that has been stuck near the CA coast keeping us dry.
