Sunday Night Storm Looking a Little Snowier

Category: Weather
Friday:

Friday we will see strong winds and increasing clouds ahead of the next storm.  Winds could gust to 70+ mph during the day which could shut down some lifts on the upper mountain.

Friday Night System:

This storm is weakening it moves into CA.  Right now it looks like we could see a coating to an inch of snow at best from this storm as a few snow showers move through Friday evening.  We may not see any accumulations at all.

Saturday-Sunday:

Saturday into Sunday we will have dry weather.  Saturday we could see some sun and highs into the 40's.  Upper mountain winds look lighter but could still gust 30 to 40 mph.

Sunday we will see strong upper mountain winds again and increasing clouds.  Highs drop into the 30's on the mountain Sunday and the winds could make it feel even colder.  We could see lifts affected again Sunday on the upper mountain.

Sunday Night Storm:

Another storm will push in by Sunday evening and moving out Monday morning.  This storm is weakening as well as it moves in, but it is starting out stronger than the other storms and it looks like it will hold together enough to bring us some snow.

The forecast models have been trending a little wetter with this storm the last 2 days.  The forecast is increased a little to 3-6 inches at the base and 4-9 inches on the mountain.

Long-Range:

It looks like high pressure will build in by next Tuesday the 18th bringing a drier and milder pattern through the end of next week.

The pattern looks like it could begin to shift starting around the 22nd through the end of the month towards a better pattern for storms.  Some forecast models bring back storms as early as the 22nd, with others holding off until Christmas or the day after.
