We have some heavy snow bands moving through this morning with the cold front. Winds with the cold front are gusting to 60 mph up top. That is causing some wind holds.
The cold front will move through this morning and then winds and snowfall rates should die down this afternoon. We should pick up the forecast 3-6 inches this morning. The forecast models are showing the area of low pressure moving through this evening pulling in more moisture than expected yesterday. We could add a few more inches this evening. Based on the heavy band that hit NW of the lake this morning we could see 6-10 inches now out of this storm by tomorrow morning.
It's very cold Friday behind the storm with highs in the teens up top and 20's at the base. We have a break for the weekend with highs in the 20's.
The next storm moves in Monday and could drop similar amounts of snow as this current storm.
After a break the middle of next week, a more potent storm pulling in more moisture could bring significant snowfall next Thursday-Friday.
The active pattern looks to continue through the first week of March.
