[Olympic Valley, Calif.] December 22, 2015 – Over four feet of snow fell at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows since Saturday, with three feet of accumulation in the last 24 hours alone. While both mountains work hard to clear lifts and ensure snow safety, the resort plans to have its full 6,000 acres open for skiing and riding for the Christmas Holidays, conditions permitting. This is only the 5th time in the resort’s 60 year history that this has been possible. Guests are encouraged to check the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows app or the lift and grooming status page for real time information. To learn more about what it takes to get the mountain open, visit the resort’s operations blog.
