Snowy Weekend, Possibly Snowy April

Category: Weather

Cloudy and windy today with showers and highs in the 40's.  Winds could gust up to 80 mph on the mountain tops.  Snow levels will be between 7000-8000 feet.  Only expecting light rain/snow showers today with maybe a coating on the upper mountain.

Tonight heavier precip moves in with snow levels falling to 7000 feet.  We could see 6-13 inches of snow on the mountain above 7000 feet.

Friday the snow continues with snow levels around 6000-6500 feet.  Winds will be gusting to 90 mph on the mountain tops.  Highs will be in the 30's.  We could see 1-4 inches at the base depending on the snow levels, and  4-8 inches on the mountain.

Friday Night

Friday night colder air filters in with another wave of precip moving in.  Snow continues and snow levels fall below the base, with an additional 5-8 inches possible at the base, and 8-15 inches on the mountain.

Snow showers should linger into Saturday with winds still gusting to 65 mph on the mountain tops.  We could see 2-5 additional inches.  Highs will only be in the 20's on the mountain and low 30's at the base.

Sunday through Wednesday we should see a break in the storms with highs in the 30's on the mountains through Monday then into the 40's Tuesday and Wednesday.

Another Storm Possible

Next Wednesday night through Friday another cold storm may bring additional snowfall.  It could come in feet again on the mountains.  That will be the focus after this storm.

The pattern could remain active through April.
