Snowy Week Ahead

Category: Weather
The Weekend

Sunny and colder today with highs in the 30's. Winds could gust to 25 mph on the upper mountain. That same weather carries into Sunday with winds increasing slightly.

The Storms Start

Sunday night a cold front moves through with winds gusting to 50 mph. Much colder air moves in with highs only in the 20's Monday and Tuesday. A slow moving low down the coast should bring light snow Sunday night through Tuesday.

We could see several inches accumulate every 12 hours Sunday night, Monday, and Monday night.  Totals by Tuesday could be around 6-12 inches at the base, and 12-18+ inches on the mountain.

The Storms Continue

Tuesday night into Wednesday a stronger storm could move into CA off the Pacific.  That could bring and additional 1-2 feet of snow.  By Wednesday with the warmer Pacific moisture highs could be in the low 30's at the base.

A Possible Break

Some of the forecast models keep the storms going with another storm moving in Thursday into Friday.  Other models show a break Thursday and Friday. I would lean towards a break in teh action right now.  Temperatures warm back into the low 30's for highs at the base and upper 20's on the mountain.

Another Storm Possible Next Weekend

Next weekend we could see a strong storm move in off the Pacific, that could bring multiple feet of snow if it comes in as forecast this morning.

Plenty of time to watch over the next week to see how much moisture we will see and what the snow levels will be.  Right now it appears cold enough for all snow, but we have a week to track it down.
