We will see nice weather today for the holiday. On Friday clouds will begin to increase as a storm system approaches for the weekend.
The forecast for this weekend is complicated as the forecast models we use to predict the snowfall are all over the place this morning. I like to take an average of what all of the forecast models are showing for the forecast. Doing that, we should see snow begin on the mountain Friday night and last through Sunday. We could see 6-9 inches accumulate on the mountain by the end of the day Saturday, and another 6-9 inches by the end of the day Sunday.
Snow levels will be around 7000 ft., just above the base on Saturday. Some forecast models show snow levels dropping to the base on Sunday. We could have weekend totals of 3-6 inches at the base and 12-18 inches at the summit by Monday morning.
We will see a break in the action on Monday. The next system pushes in snowfall on the mountain sometime Tuesday into Wednesday. Some forecast models show the snow ending Thursday and some show it continuing through the end of the week.
It is too far out to make snowfall predictions for next week, but we could see at least several more inches of snow on the mountain.
