With the cold temperatures temperatures the last 2 days we have been able to make a lot of snow. It won't be long now before there is enough to open.
We will see more sun on Friday with highs in the 40's, but the winds will start to pickup ahead of the next incoming storm. Those strong winds should continue through the weekend.
The Weekend Storm
The next storm moves in on Saturday bringing snow above 7000 feet. The storm is slow moving and the snow should continue through Sunday night. The storm begins to split over the weekend so there is a question as to how much precip will make it into our area. Right now taking an average of the forecast models we could see 8-15 inches pile up on top of the mountain by Monday morning, and 3-8 inches on the lower half of the mountain. We will hopefully get a clearer picture tomorrow.
We should see another break Monday and Tuesday next week before a fast moving weaker storm moves through. That storm could bring a few more inches of snow to the mountain on Wednesday.
Thanksgiving the weather should be clear and chilly.
The next series of storms may arrive by the Friday after Thanksgiving with multiple systems possible into that weekend. We will keep an eye on that as well.
Overall there are storms in the forecast and we will be making snow in between, so opening day looks like a go right now.
