Saturday into Sunday we will have dry weather. Saturday we could see some sun and highs into the 40's. It may stay in the 30's on the upper mountain and feel a little colder with the wind. Upper mountain winds look lighter but could still gust to 50 mph in the morning, and 30 to 40 mph in the afternoon.
Sunday we will see strong upper mountain winds again and increasing clouds. Highs drop into the 30's on the mountain Sunday and the winds could make it feel even colder. We could see lifts affected again Sunday on the upper mountain.
Sunday Night Storm:
Another storm will push in by Sunday evening and moving out Monday morning. This storm is stronger than the other storms we have seen this week, and it looks like it will hold together enough to bring us some decent snowfall.
The forecast models have been trending a little wetter with this storm the last few days. Therefore, I have increased the forecast to 4-9 inches at the base and 6-11 inches on the mountain by midday Monday. If the trend continues we could hit a foot up top, but don't bet on it yet with the way storms have been weakening over CA all week.
High pressure will build in Tuesday the 18th bringing a drier and milder pattern through the end of next week. We should see high temperatures into the 40's on the upper mountain and near 50 at the base.
The pattern looks like it could begin to shift starting around Christmas towards a better pattern for storms. Some forecast models bring back storms as early as the 24th, with others holding off until the 26th.
