Sunny and mild today through Tuesday with highs in the 40's.
Slow Moving Storm Moves In
Wednesday clouds and winds increase as the next storm approaches. This will be a slow moving storm that will bring rain and snow from Wednesday night through Friday night.
The heaviest snowfall appears to be with the cold front Thursday night into Friday. Snow should continue into Friday and turn to showers Friday night before tapering off.
Snow levels fluctuate between 6000-7000 feet through the storm, so we could see a change to rain Thursday at the base and a change back to snow Thursday night.
We could see 11-18 inches of snowfall at the base by Saturday morning, and 22-42 inches on the mountain. Still a few days to fine tune the forecast. Accumulations below 7000 feet will be affected by the timing of snow level fluctuations.
Next weekend the storm clears out. We should see sunny skies with highs in the 30's on the mountains.
The storm track looks like it will remain active to our North in the long-range. It is possible some of the storms push far enough South to bring precip to the Tahoe basin.
