The last storm dropped up to 18" of snow on the upper mountain as of Friday morning. We saw a break Friday into Saturday morning, but it is cold with temperatures only in the 30's. We will see increasing winds Saturday with snow later Saturday into Sunday, and another storm possible Monday night into Tuesday.
Winds are only gusting up to 30 mph up top this morning with cloudy skies and temperatures in the 30's. We will see clouds with increasing winds this afternoon. Ridgetop winds could gust to 50+ mph this afternoon possibly affecting upper mountain lift operations.
Snow showers return later this afternoon and increase in intensity going into tonight. Snow levels start around 7,000 feet but fall below the base tonight. We could see 1-3 inches of snow at the base and 3-6 inches of snow on the upper mountain by Sunday morning.
Snow showers linger into Sunday with cold temperatures and gusty winds. Highs only in the 30's for Sunday with winds possibly continuing to gust to 50+ mph up top. So watch for possible lift delays. We could see another 1-3 inches of snow during the day on Sunday depending on where snow showers develop.
Monday Night-Tuesday Storm:
We should see a break on Monday with some sun and clouds. Winds could drop off for the morning but increase again in the afternoon as the next storm approaches. Highs should warm into the 40's on the lower mountain during the day.
Monday night into Tuesday another cold storm is expected to dive in from the north. This system could bring more snow to the mountain with snow levels possibly dropping to the base again. Right now the forecast models show this system possibly bringing an additional 1-3 inches of snow to the lower mountain and 3-6 inches to the upper mountain. We will continue to watch it over the next few days.
The pattern looks like it may shift back towards a more springlike pattern starting Wednesday. Temperatures warm back into the 40's on the upper mountain and 50's at the base through Memorial Day Weekend. Low pressure over the Great Basin may bring a chance for afternoon rain showers each day. So we may see sunny morning and showery afternoons Wednesday through next weekend.
