Storm Moves In
Increasing clouds and winds today with highs in the 40's. Winds gusting to 50 mph this morning on the mountain tops should increase to 60+ mph this afternoon.
Snow arrives this evening. A cold front will push through overnight bringing in colder air and heavy snowfall. We could see 8-12 inches at the base by Sunday morning, and 12-20 inches on the mountain.
Snow showers continue Sunday into Monday before the storm clears out. Temperatures will be cold with highs in the 20's. Winds Sunday could continue to gust to 60 mph on Sunday and start to relax a little Monday.
By Monday morning we could see an additional 5-10 inches at the base, and 10-15 inches on the mountain. Monday lingering snow showers from a weak disturbance could bring a final 1-3 inches to the mountain.
Dry Weather Returns
Starting Tuesday high pressure builds in with temperatures warming into the 30's and then into the 40's through the end of next week.
More Storms Next Weekend?
The forecast models are split on whether high pressure is strong enough to keep storms just to our North, or if we will see a series of weak storms able to push into the area starting next Friday.
The week of the 13th there may be a better chance of storms pushing in.
