A strong cold front will move through this afternoon bringing a brief period of heavy snowfall. Winds will pick up this morning ahead of the cold front and then the snow should begin to fall by early afternoon.
Temperatures will drop this afternoon as the front moves through and snow should fall until this evening. By this evening we could have 3-6 inches of snow in the Village, 4-8 inches on the lower half of the mountain, and 8-12 inches on the upper half of the mountain.
Christmas Day will be much colder but with the sun returning. High pressure will stay off the coast through the New Year keeping us dry. Cold air will continue to pour down from the Northeast keeping us cold through the period.
The next chance for accumulating snow looks to be the first week of January.
