A cold storm is spinning down the West Coast towards the Sierra this morning. The low will spin across the area tonight through Saturday bringing colder air and snow.
The winds will be a little gusty today as the low approaches with gusts up to 25mph up top. The snow showers will begin to increase by this afternoon, and will last through the day on Saturday as the storm moves through from North to South, before tapering off by Saturday night.
We could see 6-12 inches of snow in total on the mountain by Saturday night. The snow levels will be well below base levels so we could see 3-6 inches even into the Village.
Another cold storm will drop down from the North later Monday into Tuesday. This system looks like it could bring us a few more inches of snow and a reinforcing shot of cold air.
By Wednesday high pressure builds in with quieter weather expected for about 5 days.
The week of the 9th the ridge of high pressure may shift Westward allowing a trough to dig along the West Coast again with more storms.
