Small Storms Begin Tuesday Night

Category: Weather

Expecting mostly sunny skies Tuesday with highs in the 40s. Ridgetop winds increase up top this afternoon, with gusts to 50+ mph. Possibly affecting some upper mountain lifts by the end of the day.

Tuesday Night Snow:

Tuesday night we could see a fast-moving system move through with light snow to the base into early Wednesday morning. The latest model runs have been trending drier. We could see a coating to an inch of snow, maybe a high end of up to 2 inches up top by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday - Friday:

We could see partly sunny skies Wednesday after a few snow showers in the morning. Highs drop into the 30s. Winds look lighter Wednesday only gusting to 30+ mph up top.

Another weak system moves in Wednesday night into Thursday. This one looks slightly wetter and could drop 1-3 inches of new snow on the mountain. Snow levels well below the base. Winds Thursday could gust to 45+ mph up top.

A break Friday with sun and slightly warmer temps. Highs in the 30s on the mountain to near 40 at the base.

The Weekend:

For the weekend, we could see a cold system bring snow showers later Friday night into Saturday. Snowfall amounts look light again with this system, maybe up to a few inches of new snow. Highs in the 30s. We could see gusty winds again on Saturday.

We may see a break for Sunday with cold temps and lighter winds. Then another system could move in Sunday night.

The next system could move in Sunday night through the day on Monday. Right now, this system looks like it has the best chance to bring several inches of new snow to the mountain. We will be tracking it all week.

The active pattern could continue next week. Another weak system is possible next Tuesday, then a stronger storm is possible later next week.
