Significant Snow This Weekend and Beyond...

Category: Weather

Mild weather continues through Friday.  We could see some clouds and a passing shower Thursday from a weak system passing through.

With the active flow returning the winds will be gusty up high the rest of the week with 40+ mph gusts.

Then Friday night the first wave of steady precip pushes in  with snow levels around 8000 feet.  We could see 3-6 inches above 8000 feet by Saturday.

The precip should taper off Saturday ahead of a stronger wave Saturday night into Sunday.  We should see heavy snowfall Saturday night into Sunday with the cold front, with snow levels dropping below the base.  We could see 3-6 inches at the base, and an additional 16-20 inches on the mountain.

Then another wave of precip is possible Sunday night into Monday morning.  This one will be much colder with fluffier snow.  We could see an additional 8-12 inches at the base and 12-16 inches on the mountain.  That would give us 2.5 - 3.5 feet possible up top by Monday morning.

The active pattern looks to continue next week and beyond with several more significant snow storms possible.
