Rain and High Elevation Snow Moving in Next Week

Category: Weather

The Weekend:

The weather will be partly sunny and mild through Tuesdsay.  Highs will be in the 50's Saturday at all elevations.

Then cooling a few degrees starting Sunday with highs will be in the 40's on the upper mountain and 50's at the base.

The winds will pick up with ridge top gusts of up to 40 mph Saturday, and then lessening Sunday.

Next Week:

Next week we should remain dry through Tuesday.

Then Tuesday night the first wave of precipitation could move in with light rain and high elevation snow by Wednesday morning. That may continue into the day on Thursday before tapering off.

Snow levels start around 10,000 feet above the highest peaks, then falling very slowly to around 8,000 feet by Thursday morning.

Not expecting any snow below that elevation.  The forecast above 8,000 feet by Thursday is a coating up to 2 inches of wet snow.

We may see another wave of precip move in Friday into Saturday.  It could be heavier but still with snow levels around 8,000 feet.  We could see several inches of wet snow up top.

Another wave of precip could move in next Saturday into Sunday continuing the high elevation snowfall.

Going into the week of the 8th we could see a stronger and colder storm around the 8th-9th.
