Quick 6, More Storms on the Way

Snowfall Report

We picked up 6 inches of fresh snow with the quick moving cold front last night. That is the low end of the forecast, but we'll take with a cold powder day on tap for today!

Cold with Chance of Snow Today

Today it feels like January.  Temperatures are only in the teens this morning on the upper mountain, and 20's at the base. The highs today will only be in the 20's on the mountain. The winds are still gusting over 50 mph up high which makes it feel even colder, and could cause lift delays this morning.

There is another weak wave moving through Northern CA this afternoon that could spark off another round of scattered snow showers on the mountains. That could bring a dusting to an inch of additional snowfall to the mountain.

Nice Weather Returns

We have quiet weather Friday through Sunday with some sun and temperatures quickly rebounding into the 40's on the upper mountain, and 50's at the base. We could see some gusty Northeast winds for Friday and strong winds returning Sunday ahead of the next storm.

Another Cold Storm

We have a similar storm coming in for Sunday night where a cold front brings in a quick shot of snow and much colder air. We drop highs back into the 20's and 30's again for Monday. We could see additional snow showers Monday into Monday night this time though as the main area of low pressure moves through the area.

Using the latest forecast model runs, we could see 5-10 inches at the base with this storm, and 10-15 inches on the upper mountain. We will have to see if the drying trend continues with this storm as we get closer.

3rd Storm?

The latest trend on the next storm for the middle of next week is to bring the low further North through Central CA. That would bring us a chance for more snowfall Wednesday night into Thursday. We will have to keep watching this low to see where it will make landfall.

It still looks like we could have a break for the weekend of the 20th with nice weather. But then another trough could push into the West Coast the week of the 23rd with the chance for more shots of colder air and unsettled weather.
