The winds are gusting and the clouds are moving in ahead of the impending storm for today.
The first wave is actually falling apart as it comes in this afternoon so only expecting some light snowfall this afternoon with up to an inch or two. The good news is that the 2nd wave is stronger and holding together, and that will move in tonight into Sunday morning.
By Sunday morning we could see up to 6 inches of snow at the base and up to a foot of snow at the top of the mountain. Snow showers on Sunday could add a couple more inches.
We may see a break later Sunday afternoon, but a 3rd wave moves in Sunday night into Monday morning. That wave could bring a few more inches of snow.
Total snowfall by Monday afternoon could be 6-12 inches on the lower half of the mountain, and 12-18 inches on the upper half.
Starting Tuesday we may have an extended break in the storms for a week or more, but we should see reinforcing shots of cold air that keep the snow guns firing through the period.
We are watching the 2nd week of December, the 8th-14th for a return of the storm, but hopefully it's even sooner than that.
