Operations Update: Squaw One & Broken Arrow Closed for Maintenance

Category: Operations Blog

Squaw One lift closed today, January 9, as crews work to repair power poles and overhead lines that were damaged by high winds in a recent storm. Olympic High, Summer Road and portions of Sunnyside trail will also be closed during the repairs. We anticipate reopening this terrain and Squaw One in the next day or so, weather and conditions permitting.

We will be working with our power company to replace two power poles near Tower 12 of Squaw One, about midway up the lift, and about a half mile of power lines.

Unrelated to the powerline issue, Broken Arrow chairlift will be closed to install a new electrical drive. We plan to install the drive on Sunday and Monday, and load test the lift with the state on Tuesday. Weather and conditions permitting, we will be able to reopen the lift on Wednesday.
