It's opening weekend and we have our 3rd snowstorm in 3 weeks. A cold front will blast through the Tahoe basin on Sunday with gusty winds and moderate snow most of the day.
Total accumulations by Sunday night are expecting to be 3-6 inches at the base, and 6-9 inches on the upper half of the mountians. Cold air moves in behind the front with highs only in the 20's & 30's through Monday.
The rest of the week will be sunny with highs in the 30's & 40's. The storm track will stay to our North through the end of the week.
Next weekend the high pressure responsible for the lack of storms this upcoming week will shift a bit North and West. That may allow another shot of colder air next Sunday and again around Thanksgiving. It may also bring some light snow with each shot of colder air.
