Wednesday - Friday:
Mostly sunny skies expected through Friday. Highs in the 50s.
High-pressure shifts east with a trough pushing into the West for the weekend. That may lead to a weak system bringing us some light snow by Saturday night into Sunday. We may start sunny Saturday with increasing clouds and wind in the afternoon. Southwest winds gusting to 60-70+ mph up top by afternoon, possibly affecting upper mountain lifts. Highs dropping into the 40s on the mountain.
Snow showers could push in as early as Saturday evening ahead of the cold front and continuing Saturday night as snow levels fall below the base. The snow showers could linger into Sunday before clearing later in the day. The latest forecast model runs show 2-4 inches of fresh snow possible on the mountain by Sunday afternoon. Highs only in the 20s on the upper mountain and 30s at the base on Sunday.
Next week we could see another dry week. We start the week sunny and cold with highs back into the 40s. Then we could stay dry through the end of the week with temperatures warming slightly.
We are continuing to watch a possible shift in the pattern that could bring wetter systems the 2nd week of March.
