Nice Day Saturday, Storm Sunday, Cold Monday

Category: Weather
Saturday:

Saturday high pressure builds in with some sun and clouds.  Highs in the 40's with lighter winds.

Sunday:

A final storm moves in Sunday/Sunday night.  This storm is trending wetter as it pushes further south.  Snow levels could hover around 7,000 feet through the day on Sunday, then falling well below the base behind the cold front Sunday evening.  Strong winds of up to 100 mph on the top ridges on Sunday likely causing upper mountain lift closures.

We could see rain at the base changing to snow Sunday evening, with 5-11 inches possible by Monday morning.  On the mountain above 7,000 feet, we could see 17-25 inches.

MLK Day:

For Monday we should see clearing skies but cold with highs only in the 20's on the mountains to low 30's at the base.  Winds could still be gusting up to 50 mph on the upper mountain so it will be a cold day.

Long-Range:

We are expecting the dry pattern starting Monday to continue at least through the 29th as high pressure builds in off the West Coast blocking storms.  Temperatures should warm into the 30's on Tuesday and then the 40's later in the week.

Watching the 30th of January - 1st of February for a pattern change that could bring a return of storms.
