20-30 injured vets hosted annually for adaptive sports instruction with the Military to the Mountains Program
Military to the Mountains is a program for disabled veterans that pairs a nine-week training program with a week of skiing or snowboarding at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, with a goal of improving physical and mental health through mountain sports.
We put these warriors together to shred the gnar, as y’all say, and rebuild camaraderie and purpose. On this trip, their souls get fed. When they go back home, they do everything with more joy.”
– Jacob Schick, former Marine and inaugural Military to the Mountains participant.
