Monday - Tuesday:
We will have dry weather on Monday-Tuesday. Expect sunny skies with highs in the 30s with lighter winds Monday. Later in the day on Tuesday we could see some increasing clouds and winds ahead of the next storm.
For Wednesday we see a system move in that is splitting and weakening. By the time it reaches the Sierra we may only see clouds and a few scattered snow showers. There is an outside chance that it holds together a little better with slightly more snow. For now, only expecting a dusting up to an inch or two on the mountain.
Thursday - Saturday:
Thursday through the day on Saturday we should stay dry with the next storm staying off the coast. Highs in the 30s on the mountain, warming into the 40s at the base Friday into Saturday.
At some point, the storm off the coast will move through CA. The latest forecast model runs show precipitation moving through the Sierra Saturday night into Sunday. That should bring light-moderate snow to the mountains. Right now snowfall amounts look to be in inches and not feet, but we will fine-tune the timing and snowfall forecast all week.
Going into Christmas week we may have a cool and drier pattern with the possibility for a weak system or two to move through with some snow.
