Squaw Valley Takes Summer to New Heights with the High Camp Experience
Surrounded with sun-drenched views of Lake Tahoe, this mountain top playground offers activities and dining for all ages
[Olympic Valley, Calif.] July 17, 2017 – The High Camp Experience at Squaw Valley sweeps visitors from 6,200’ to 8,200’ via the Aerial Tram, soaring over 550-feet above creeks, waterfalls, forests and the iconic Tram Face. At the top awaits breathtaking views and activities for every age and activity level including the High Camp Pool & Hot Tub, roller skating, disc golf, geocaching, a new lawn area with games and a play structure for kids, the free Olympic Museum, miles of walking and hiking trails, and 360 degree panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. Adventure options are available for all fitness levels and time constraints, from short walks through the wildflowers to a trek on the renowned Pacific Crest and Western States trails. The Aerial Tram at Squaw Valley will be open daily from 10:40 a.m. to 4:20 p.m., with the last download at 5 p.m., from May 27-September 4, September 9-10 and September 16-17.
Squaw Kids Adventure Camp: Now in it’s second year, the Squaw Kids Adventure Camp is offered Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, June 23-September 4, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Fun, friendly and experienced counselors connect kids with nature through activities like nature crafts, Aerial Tram rides, swimming, eco-hikes, roller skating, geocaching, biking, fielding games, scavenger hunts, map and compass class, Chef Let’s Cook Day, yoga, flower press, tree identification and more. Squaw Kids Adventure Camp has two offerings for different age groups: The Explorers Group for kids ages 5-7 and the Mountaineers Group for kids ages 8-13.
