Thursday - Friday:
Expecting mostly sunny skies through Friday, with some clouds possibly increasing Friday. Highs into the 40s up top & 50s at the base. Winds increasing Thursday into Friday ahead of the next storm. Ridgetop gusts to 30+ mph by Thursday and 50+ mph for Friday.
The next system moves in early Saturday morning. We could see snow showers through the day on Saturday and becoming more scattered Saturday night. Snow levels below the base. Highs dropping into the 30s.
The forecast models are still not in agreement on total precipitation amounts. Using the current average we could see 3-5 inches of snow on the mountain by Saturday night, and 1-3 inches at the base.
Sunday - Monday:
Temperatures stay colder Sunday through Tuesday, in the 30s on the mountain to near 40 at the base for highs. A system sitting off the coast could stream clouds and some moisture into the area during the 2-day period. That will bring the chance for scattered snow showers at times over the mountain and a coating up to a few inches of snow possible depending on how much moisture reaches the Sierra.
Tuesday - Thursday:
The system off the coast will move into CA Tue - Thu bringing the chance for rain & snow on the mountains. We will be on the northern edge of the system as it moves through southern CA. That could bring light-moderate precip with snow levels fluctuating. We will fine-tune the timing and amounts as we get closer.
The pattern may remain active through the 3rd week of March with another storm possible for the weekend of the 14th and more the week of the 16th.
