Thursday - Friday:
Mostly sunny through Friday. Highs into the 40s on the upper mountain 50s at the base. Light east winds turning southwest Friday and increasing later in the day. We could see ridgetop gusts to 40+ mph by Friday afternoon.
We could see light snow break out early morning Saturday as the next storm approaches. Steadier snowfall expected by afternoon with heavier snow Saturday night into Sunday. Snow levels well below the base. Ridgetop winds gusting to 80+ mph Saturday and 50+ mph for Sunday, possibly affecting some upper mountain lift operations. Highs dropping into the 20s on the upper mountain and 30s at the base for the weekend.
We are still watching the track of this cold system closely. It is expected to bring significant snowfall through Sunday night. We could see 9-16 inches at the base and 12-21 inches on the mountain by Sunday morning. Then we could double that by Monday morning. This is expected to be a powdery snow with 15:1 ratios on the mountain.
Monday - Wednesday Snow:
The storm continues to linger into Monday & Tuesday with lighter snow expected, with scattered snow showers possibly lingering into Wednesday. It stays cold with highs in the 20s and 30s. We could see an additional 4-8 inches at the base and 8-16+ inches on the mountain by Wednesday.
The next system could drop south into CA as early as next Thursday into Friday. Then another system is possible for the weekend of the 21st.
We could see the cool temperatures and active pattern continue through the end of the month.
