We have been watching for a pattern change from mild and dry to colder and wetter for the last couple of weeks. That change is on our doorstep today.
We will see gusty winds today as the storm approaches. Then tonight snow showers will arrive with the cold front.
The Snow showers will last through the day on Wednesday. We are expecting light accumulations of 1-2 inches of total snowfall on the mountain. The forecast models have trended drier so that is pulled back a little from a couple days ago.
Behind the Storm:
There will be very cold air in place Wednesday and Thursday. We should be able to fire up the snow guns tonight and run them around the clock through Thursday night. That should help us in our goal to be open by 11/23.
After a break on Thursday and Friday there is another storm approaching for the weekend. The forecast models are unsure whether this storm will split apart and miss us, or will hold together. If the storm holds together we could see moderate amounts of snowfall Saturday night through Sunday, so we will keep an eye on this storm and update through the week.
The pattern looks to remain active in the long-range with the chances for cold storms continuing. The next storm could possibly arrive next Wednesday. Let's hope the active pattern continues through the end of the month.
