Cold & Stormy Pattern Starting Wednesday

Category: Weather

Clouds and winds increase Tuesday.  Mountain top wind gusts to 40 mph Tuesday, increasing into Wednesday.  Wednesday we could see gusts up top to 50+ mph.  Showers are possible Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night with snow levels above 8,000 feet.  High temperatures dropping into the 40's on the mountain.

Snow & Wind Thursday:

Thursday a cold front moves through and snow levels fall near the base by Thursday afternoon/evening, with snow showers continuing into Thursday night.  Winds up top could be gusting to 60+ mph possibly closing upper mountain lifts.

By Friday morning we could see 3-6 inches of snow on the lower mountain, and 6-12" of snow on the upper mountain.  Highs Thursday and Friday only in the 30's on the upper mountain, and 40's at the base.

Active Weather Continues:

We may see a break in the storms Friday into Saturday.  But Saturday night into Sunday we could see another cold storm drop similar amounts of snow.  We will continue to watch this storm.  Winds could also be an issue Sunday for upper mountain lifts.

The active pattern could continue into early next week with another system moving into CA.  Overall the next 7 days look colder and wet/white.

We may see an end to the storms later next week.  Hoping for a drier and milder Memorial Day Weekend.
