The front moving through Tuesday night unexpectedly stalled over the area Wednesday keeping the clouds and snow showers around. The skies have finally cleared today and we will have sun and highs in the 40's. Winds will be light down low but gusting to 25 mph up top.
The storm moves in quickly Friday morning bringing heavy snowfall. The snow lightens to showers Friday night, and then tapers off Saturday morning. We could see 6-12 inches of snow at the base, and 12-18 inches up top.
The winds will be strong up top Friday gusting to 65 mph, so there may be some lift holds.
Saturday through Monday looks cold with highs only in the 20's. We will see the sun return for Sunday and Monday.
High pressure builds in next week bringing dry weather through the end of the week. Temperatures should warm into the 30's on the mountain and 40's at the base Tuesday through Friday.
The forecast models are at odds on whether or not a storm reaches us New Years weekend.
