Clearing Friday into Saturday, Rain/Snow Saturday Night into Sunday

Category: Weather
Snowfall Report:

Snow levels were around 8000 ft. last night and dropped to around 7000 ft. early Friday morning. We saw an inch of snow up top overnight from the scattered showers.

Friday - Saturday:

Friday into Saturday should be mostly to partly cloudy with some sun. Highs into the 40s at the base and 30s up top Friday, and 40s top to bottom Saturday. Expecting lighter winds.

Saturday Night - Sunday Storm:

The next storm moves in Saturday evening into Sunday morning, with snow showers possibly lingering into Sunday afternoon. Snow levels will start high with this storm Saturday evening, around 8000 ft. Then lowering to near the base by late Sunday morning as the storm starts to wind down. Winds on Sunday could gust to 50+ mph early and then fall through the day.

We could see just rain or up to 1 inch of wet snow at the base Sunday morning at the end. On the mountain, we could see 1-4inches of snow at mid-mountain, and 3-6 inches on the upper mountain by Sunday afternoon.

Next Week:

Monday looks drier and slightly cooler with highs in the 30s up top and 40s at the base. A weak storm moving through to the north on Tuesday could bring a few light snow showers to the mountain.

Wednesday through the end of the week high pressure builds in over CA. That brings us a drier and milder pattern. We should see mostly sunny skies with highs into the 40s.

Long-Range:

The long-range models suggest we could see a storm around Sunday the 2nd, but confidence is low as we could transition back to a drier pattern the week of the 3rd. We will be watching closely for a pattern change in the long-range that could bring back a stormy pattern.
