We have some clouds around today from a storm moving through just to our North. The weather will remain quiet through Thursday before we see some changes.
By Friday a strong storm will be pushing into the Pacific NW and Northern CA. The current forecast shows that we should see precip begin by Friday evening and last into Saturday. Snow levels through the event currently look like will average around 8,000 feet, but could go as low as 7,000 by Saturday morning. We could see over a foot of snow above 8,000 feet with this first storm.
After a break Saturday night into Sunday another storm pushes in Sunday night into Monday. This storm is similar with snow levels and precipitation.
By Monday we could see a total accumulation of 2 feet or more above 8,000 feet on the mountain. We will be monitoring this storm all week as we try to pinpoint exact snow levels and snowfall amounts.
Next week after the storms the weather looks quiet again through mid-month. The long-range climate models do show increased precipitation for CA the 3rd and 4th weeks of February and into March.
