Mild weather will continue through Thursday with lots of sun and highs in the 40's.
Then on Friday the jetstream takes aim at Northern CA from across the Pacific bringing light rain to start and then heavy precip Friday night into Saturday. Snow levels will start around 9000 feet before falling near 8000 feet Friday night, 7000 feet by Saturday morning, and to base level Saturday.
That could bring 12-16 inches up top Friday night above 8000 feet, and then another 6-8 inches to the mountain Saturday.
Another wave will reinforce the precip Saturday night into Sunday with snow levels below base level. We could see an additional 10-14 inches Saturday night on the mountain and another 6-12 inches on Sunday.
That could mean snowfall totals of 1-2 feet at the base through the weekend, and 2-4 feet on the mountain. We will keep watching the trend of the storm this week to try and hone in on the snowfall amounts.
A ridge of high pressure may build over the West next week with some weakened storms pushing in Tuesday through Thursday. The ridge may strengthen over the West Coast by the weekend of the 5th making it a bit harder for storms to push in.
