8 Inches Overnight, Snow Showers Continue Sunday Morning

Category: Weather
Snowfall Report:

We picked up 6 inches of fresh powder at the base and 8 inches on the upper mountain overnight! Snow showers continue this morning.

Scattered snow showers continue Sunday morning and diminishing by afternoon with some clearing. Highs only in the 20s. Ridgetop winds gusting from the northeast up to 30+ mph in the morning and increasing to 70+ mph by evening, possibly closing some upper mountain lifts. That will also make it feel even colder. We could see a final 1-2 inches of snow on the mountain.

Monday - Thursday:

We start the week sunny and cold with highs in the 30s up top and 40s at the base Monday, with a brisk northeast wind continuing. We could see ridgetop gusts to 60+ mph in the morning dropping to 40+ in the afternoon, possibly still affecting some upper mountain lifts.

Expecting lighter winds and milder temperatures with mostly sunny skies through Friday. Temperatures warming into the 40s & 50s starting Tuesday. Winds could increase again Friday ahead of the next storm.

Friday Night - Saturday System:

The next system may move in from the northwest Friday night into next Saturday. We will be tracking that all week. The models are not in agreement on whether this is a wet or dry system this far south.

The pattern shift next weekend may last through mid-month. That could bring us the chance for wetter systems the week of the 9th.
