We picked up another 6 inches overnight bringing the 7 day total to 24 inches. Snow showers continuing this morning may have added another inch or two.
That is making for great conditions for the opening day today of Alpine Meadows. With more snow this weekend we may see Squaw Valley open.
Thanksgiving Holiday Weather:
The snow showers will start to taper off Wednesday afternoon. Then we will see a break Thanksgiving Day and Friday with nice weather and highs in the 30's on the mountains.
Snowy Weekend Ahead:
The next storm has slowed and we now don't expect it to arrive until Saturday. It is also splitting so the snowfall will be light with this first storm of the weekend. We could see 1-3 inches Saturday.
There is another cold storm right on its heels for Saturday night into Sunday. This storm could drop 3-6 more inches Saturday night, and 1-3 more on Sunday. So a cold and snowy weekend ahead with highs in the 20's, and up to a foot of new snow possible on the mountains.
The pattern for next week shows that we could see a break in the storms to start next week with temperatures in the 30's and 40's. We may see another cold trough dig in starting Wednesday that could bring more snowfall. At this time it looks very light but we will keep an eye on it.
