Impressive Totals So Far
Squaw picked up an addtional 16 inches up top in the past 24 hours, and 10 at the base. That brings the 4 day total to 5 feet 3 inches, and the January total to over 20 feet!
Heavy Snow Continues
Heavy snow and very high winds expected today and the heavy snow will continue into tonight. That will cause Alpine to be closed today and most of Squaw as well. We could see an additional 24-30 inches at the base by Monday morning, and up to 38 inches up top.
Monday the winds die down with gusts only expected to be around 30 mph up top. Light snow showers should continue as a low drops South through CA. The snow showers may linger into the evening. We could see an additional 2-4 inches of snow before the storm completely clears out.
Finally a Break
Tuesday high pressure builds in and the sun returns. We should see dry condtions for a week starting Tuesday. The temperatures are cold with highs in the 30's through the end of the week.
Storms May Return Soon
There are signs that the storms could return during the first week of February. The latest forecast model runs this morning show a storm on February 1st.
