We picked up 12 more inches on the upper mountain and 9 inches at the base in the past 24 hours. That brings the 4-day storm total to 36-45 inches on the upper mountain and 23-25 inches at the base! More terrain is opening by the day!
Sunday into Monday the sun will return. But it will be cold with highs only in the 20's on Sunday and 30's Monday. Overnight lows in the teens.
Low pressure will be sitting along the CA coast and moving very slowly down the coast into Southern CA Monday night through Thursday. That could bring periods of very light snow showers Monday night through Wednesday night on the mountain.
This is a tricky storm and we will have to keep updating the forecast based on how much moisture this storm can pull in. Right now it looks like 2-5 inches of snow could pile up slowly over the 3 day period. The best chance of accumulating snow is Tuesday night. Snow levels look to remain well below the base of the mountain.
Next weekend it looks like high pressure will try to build in over the West Coast bringing us a dry weekend.
The next storm should push in on the 10th. The forecast models are not sure whether or not this storm could split and bring us light amounts of snow, or hold together and bring some heavier snowfall.
