Sunday we will see strong upper mountain winds again and increasing clouds. Highs drop into the 30's on the mountain Sunday and the winds could make it feel even colder. We could see lifts closed again Sunday on the upper mountain with ridge gusts to 100 mph. The lower mountain should see highs into the 40's.
Sunday Night Storm:
Another storm will push in by Sunday evening and moving out by Monday morning. This storm is stronger than the other storms we have seen this week, and it looks like it will hold together enough to bring us some snowfall even though it is weakening as it moves in.
The forecast models trended a little drier the past 24 hours, so I have decreased the forecast slightly to 3-6 inches at the base and 5-9 inches on the mountain by Monday morning.
Monday will be cold with highs in the 30's and clearing skies by afternoon. The winds may still be gusting over 40 mph in the morning but should ease through the day.
High pressure will build in Tuesday bringing a drier and milder pattern through the end of the week. We should see high temperatures into the 40's on the upper mountain and 50's at the base.
The pattern looks like it could begin to shift starting next weekend towards a better pattern for storms and cold air. Some forecast models bring back storms as early as the 23rd, with others holding off until the 25th.
