We picked up another 9 inches yesterday up top and 6 inches at the base. That brought the storm total to 41 inches up top. The season total is now at 476 inches. That is 106% of the total season average, and it's only February 11th.
To give some perspective, during the record breaking 2011 season we were at 301 inches for this date, and ended the season with 810 inches up top. So we are pacing well ahead of 2011. Will we see another 500 inches over the next 4 months like 2011? If we do ths would be the 2nd record breaking season in 6 years.
A Break with Beautiful Weather
Sunny and cold today with highs in the 30's on the mountain. Winds could gust to 30-35 mph on the peaks. Similar weather expected for Sunday.
Monday through Wednesday the sunny weather continues with temperatures warming into the 40's.
The Storms Return
Thursday the next storm begins to move in. Snow levels start high around 8000 feet Thursday afternoon as the precip pushes in. Then they fall Thursday night as the heaviest precip is falling. We could see several inches of snow on the mountain.
There may be a break next Friday into Saturday. Then another storm may push in next Sunday and Monday. These storms look stronger and could bring more significant snowfall to the mountains.
