The mountain picked up 3-4 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours. The forecast was for 2-4 inches by this morning, so the storm is performing as expected so far.
We are expecting light snow showers to continue today before the storm moves away tonight. We could see an additional 1-2 inches of snow by Thursday morning. Winds are fairly light with mountaintop gusts only around 20 mph this morning.
Thursday through the weekend high pressure will build in over the West Coast bringing us a dry weekend with some sun, and highs in the 30's on the mountain. Highs could reach the low 40's at the base.
Monday Night Storm:
The next storm should push in on Monday night the 10th. This storm is weakening and splitting as it moves into CA. Right now amounts look light with only a few inches for the mountain at best.
As we go towards mid-month the storm track may shift into the Pacific NW. We could be right on the edge of the storm track to our north. That makes for a tricky long-range forecast because it will be a big difference if the storms track far enough south to hit us or track to just our north keeping us dry.
Right now the forecast models show the next possible storm pushing south into Central CA around the 14th. So we will keep an eye on that storm.
