4-8 Inches Possible by Wednesday Morning

Category: Weather

Sunny and windy today with highs in the 40's, and winds picking up with gusts to 65 mph on the mountain tops by afternoon. Watch for winds to affect lift operations by this afternoon.

The Storm

During the early morning hours Wednesday a cold front moves through bringing back much colder air with highs in the 20's.

The cold front will bring a quick shot of snow with 3-6 inches of snow possible at the base, and 4-8 inches possible on the mountain.

We clear out Wednesday afternoon with sunny skies, but winds remain gusty with gusts over 60 mph possible.  So we may have more lift operations effected, and it will definitely feel much colder than the air temperature.

The Weekend

Thursday we are still cold with highs in the 20's on the mountain.  Then, highs into the 30's through Christmas Day.  Winds may continue to be breezy on the mountains so keep an eye on the lift operations.

The colder air moving in through the weekend will allow snowmaking to continue expanding more terrain.

Next Tuesday the forecast models are hinting at us getting brushed by a storm moving through to the North. That could bring some more light snow and some colder air.

The last few days of the month and into January we are watching to see if a new pattern sets up that could bring more significant snowfall.
