3 Inches So Far, But the Storm Is Just Starting

Snowfall Report: 3" in 24 hours

We saw some snow to the base yesterday afternoon, but as expected snow levels jumped to 8,000 feet overnight. We picked up 3" of snow above 8,000' as of this morning. Snow levels have been hovering around 8,000' all morning.

Wednesday: 11-16" Possible

Rain and high elevation snow today into tonight with snow levels around 8,000 feet, maybe a tad higher this afternoon. Ridge top winds to 60 mph today increasing tonight which is affecting lift operations. Highs in the 30's today on the mountain. We could see 11-16" above the snow line by Thursday morning. 

Thursday: 15-19" Possible

Thursday into Thursday evening the heavy precip continues and then cuts off abruptly Thursday evening. Snow levels drop to 7,000 feet in the morning, and eventually to the base by evening. Highs in the 30's. Ridge top winds increase to 90 mph. We could see 1-3" of snow at the base by Friday morning, 12-16" above 7,000 feet, and 15-19" above 8,000 feet.

Friday: 1-3" Possible

We could see a break Friday and then light snow showers Friday night. Highs are colder in the 20's on the mountain. Winds still gusting to 50+ mph up top. By Saturday morning we could have an addtional 1-3" of lighter fluffier snow on the mountain.

Saturday: 1-4" During the Day and 12-19" Possible Overnight

Saturday more light snow showers could bring 1-4 additional inches of snowfall.  Highs are cold again in the 20's. Saturday night we could see some heavier snowfall as the final low moves through, and then tapering off Sunday morning. Mountain top wind gusts could still  be strong. By Sunday morning we could have an addtional 8-12" at the base, and 12-19" on the mountain.

In total we could see 11-19" at the base by Sunday morning, 2-3 feet above 7,000' and 3-5 feet above 8,000'


Next week we are expecting high pressure to build in with sunny and warming weather.  Highs should warm into the 40's and maybe 50's at the base by the end of the week. 

There could be another storm the week of the 2nd as a trough could move in allowing more unsettled weather.
