We saw a band of heavy snow setup behind the storm yesterday morning. That dropped another 6-9 inches of snow on the mountain. Storm totals at the base ended up at 16-21 inches, and 22-25 inches up top. That is making for a very white Christmas on the mountain with lots of powdery snow.
Today thru Friday
The sun is out today but it is cold with highs in the 20's and light winds. That weather will continue into Monday. Then Tuesday through Friday the sun remains with temperatures reaching highs in the 40's during the day.
New Year's Weekend
Friday night into New Year's Eve we may see a cold trough drop down the West Coast. That could bring us a return of colder air, and light snow Friday night into Saturday.
We may have a break with cold air in place for New Year's Day. Then the forecast models show another cold trough moving down from the North on Monday the 2nd with more light snows.
Eventually the week of the 2nd we may see stronger storms break into the West Coast from off of the Pacific. Some models are as early as the 4th, while others hold off until the weekend of 7th.
